I had to take a moment the other day to stop and think about where all the time has gone.  I truly didn’t realize how quickly the girls are growing and becoming quite the little divas I know they will be!   I really don’t know where my babies have gone.

With Avery in preschool, she is learning more and more each day.  She loves school and all of the new friends that she has made and she has this whole new outlook on life and her newfound independence.  She doesn’t even turn around to tell me goodbye once the classroom doors have opened.  She just runs right in and is ready to start the day! After all, “I am a big girl mommy, not a baby!”…. this is what she continues to remind me each and every day!!!!

Our baby girl (NOT!) – Carly has officially moved into her BIG GIRL BED!!!  That’s right– my 20 month old put the smackdown on being in a crib and I converted her crib into the toddler bed yesterday.  (I really had no choice since she could climb out so gracefully I wasn’t out of her room and she was right behind me).  Once I realized that she was going to break something in order to get out, I gave in.  Now she is just like “SISSY” and is loving her big girl bed.   She also is talking more and more each day and is mimicking every single thing that her sister does.  Needless to say, she has no fear and is quite the little daredevil– she’s definitely the one to keep me on my toes!

Watching the girls grow is truly a blessing.  I love every second of it.  AND, where I have been overwhelmed in the past with having them so close together, it truly is a blessing in disguise!  How? might you ask????   Well, the girls have really become the best of friends.  Not only do they have a playmate 24/7, but they truly do enjoy their time together.  Avery plays the “little mommy” role (almost too well!)– including putting her sister in time out and correcting her when she does something she’s not supposed to;  and Carly does her best to keep Avery on her toes.  They read books together, sing songs, color, play with babies and “cook” in their kitchen.  I have a blast watching them interact and play together… they really are adorable!

We are looking forward to some fun things coming up in the next couple of weeks… we have Halloween fast approaching (I have Minnie Mouse and Princess Coral (Ariel) that are going to make an appearance this year from my house), a couple of Halloween parties already planned with some of our friends and one through preschool, and of course we have the Holidays coming up right behind that.  I can’t believe that we are already halfway through October and on the heels of 2010!   Like I said… where does the time go????
