Beach Bums

We went “Down the Ocean” this past week for some frolicing and fun in the sun.  The girls had a blast, but while they LOVED playing in the sand, they stayed FAR AWAY from the ocean.  The water was just not their thing- a little intimidating I think– the ocean was super rough this time around.  Instead, they had fun times building sand castles, sand surfing with Aunt Tracy, digging sand forts for hiding and sliding, and burying each other in the sand.  We collected seashells (Avery calls them Treasures) and were sure to cover ourselves from head to toe with sand.  The girls didn’t mind one bit though… the sandier the better as far as they were concerned.  I think that this may be in part because they loved the shower after the beach.  Grandmom Loretta and Pop have a very fancy outside shower that has a high faucet and a low faucet.  The Low Faucet is just their height– we literally had to drag the girls away.  I think that they would have stayed under the water there forever if we let them.  (LOL)

Our night time rituals were a bit more low key, but we did take one evening to go up to the Boardwalk at Rehobeth Beach.  Here, the girls got a chance to take in the “scenery”, ride the rides,  and enjoy some ice cream.  The girls were absolutely adorable riding the rides this time around.  Avery was such the little helper with  Carly on the rides– playing the role of big sister to perfection.

The only downside of the trip was the fact that our Poor Baby Carly cut both of her top Molars while we were away and from what I have heard, that is pretty painful.  So, while our girl was a trooper, I know that she was definitely a bit out of sorts from being so uncomfortable as far as that is concerned…. It’s tough becoming such a big girl!  :-)

All in all, we had a fantabulous time together and I look forward to our next trip Down the Ocean Hon!!!   Be sure to enjoy the new pix that were uploaded to the July folder — all of our vacation pix are on there!
