Summer Days, Summer Nights…

So, our days are filled with lots of playtime, pool time and popsicles while our nights are filled with park time, more popsicles and “pretty up” time (aka- Bath time).  The girls are enjoying every second of summer– soaking up the sunshine and taking full advantage of the nice weather.

I am just amazed that girls are getting so big- growing more and more each day.  I reminisce and think that Avery last year was just toddling around and now she rides so fast down the hill through the neighborhood on her bike - laughing and giggling all the way– did I mention that she has the most infectious laugh you have ever heard???  Carly last year was a teeny tiny baby and this year she is chasing after her big sister and learning to ride her very own bike.  She definitely holds her own in the group and has no problems keeping up with the “Big Kids”.   She is a devilish little thing with a smile that will just melt your heart!!!  I tell you there is a reason they make them so stinkin cute!!! :-)

My Girly- girls are into make up and clothes and hair and all of the chaos that comes along with that.  They each have their own baby dolls and they are both so attached to their babies (Avery has “Coral” and Carly has “Baby”) the dolls go everywhere with us.  It’s as if I actually have 4 children.   It’s adorable and I just love it!  Avery even puts Baby Coral in Time out- which I think is absolutely HYSTERICAL!  LOL

All in all,  having 2 toddlers– while they are dramatic, exhausting, and full of things to say - to put it lightly- It really is just Wonderful.  I often times take for granted that there truly is NEVER a dull moment in my day.  I can’t believe how lucky I am…. I get to enjoy my babies - their laughter, their tears, their stresses and messes, their milestones and let me tell you that I truly love all of the memories we make are making along the way!

Swimming with the fishes!!!

Playtime with my girls… they are little fish in the pool!  Can’t get them outta there!!!  I love it that they love it!!!

Funny little girl…

Avery just cracks me up sometimes with the things that she says… the other day she pulled her headband out of her hair and then told me, “Mommy- my ears are exhausted from this headband!”…. LOL– what a silly girl!!!

When the rain is away, the girls will play!!!

So, the weather lately has been either one extreme or the other… it’s either sunny and blistering hot outside or it is chilly and raining cats and dogs.   Let’s just say, we prefer the sunshine- as you can clearly see in the new pix that have been added.

We have been spending lots of time at the gym- they have an awesome pool there and Avery just absolutely LOVES IT!  She is a little shark in the pool and is very sad when it’s time to come home.  Carly on the other hand prefers to be on dry land.  She is warming up to the water, but she fell under  (for literally a half of a half of a second!!!) on our first visit and has been hesitant ever since.  Today though, she played while sitting on my lap- baby steps… we will certainly get there!

When we aren’t hanging out at the pool we are playing at the playground, the girls are riding their bikes, going on wagon rides and eating lots of popsicles/ ice cream… We have been able to catch up with lots of friends and get some much needed playtime in with our buddies!  Isn’t summer just fantastic?

I know, I know…

Yes, Yes… it’s been a while and honestly, things have just been busy.  You would think that I would have something to show for all of this time that has past, but I really don’t!  There aren’t that many pix this month, it’s just me being a slacker on the website.  LOL

So, Let’s catch up:

The girls are growing more and more each day- it’s a beautiful and wonderful and crazy thing all at the same time!

Avery has come out of her shell over the past month or so and has become extremely VOCAL.  She has A LOT to say and not only does she NEVER stop talking– she seriously tells stories that seem like they will never end-  but she is full fledged into what they call the Terrible Two’s!  The mood swings are crazy (way crazier than my infamous mood swings– just ask Ben!)   One minute she is this sweet, precious and kind little girl-  the next she turns into a 25 lb monster.  It is crazy– the tantrums are extreme and the emotions are just endless.  Everyone warned me that it was coming, and man, it sure did– in full force.  All I can say is - WOW!  LOL  In addition to the Terrible 2’s,  Avery is also experiencing some separation anxiety.  She gets very upset whenever I go anywhere - even if it’s to the bathroom- and she tells me constantly, “Mommy- you ALWAYS leave me!!!”    While some may find this “cute” (and these are the people that tell me that she just loves me so much), it gets old as the day wears on- especially when I don’t get a moment to myself.  Don’t get me wrong-  I absolutely LOVE every second with my sweet little toddler, but man, oh man, she certainly keeps me on my toes!!!  I always say that there is a reason that they are made to be so beautiful!  :-)

Now, Let’s move on to my Little Baby Carly- aka my little PeaPod-who is just getting bigger and bigger everyday and is just a little ball of badness!  (Do you sense the recurring theme here?!?!?)  She is now 15 months old and is into absolutely everything.  She copies everything that her big sister does and tries to one up her all the way– can we say Monkey See, Monkey Do?!?  And– did I mention that she does it all with a smile?  She is quite the little charmer.  Even when she is doing something that she absolutely knows is wrong, she just looks at you- SMILES- then does it anyway!   She is a little devil, but a damn cute one, I swear!    She has also been building her vocabulary lately.  She can now say:  MaMa, DaDa, Up, Down, Dog, No, Yeah, Wow, Uh-Oh, Hi and Bye Bye.  It’s really cute!   We have her 15 month check up with the doctor next week and I can’t wait to see how she “stacks up” against all of the other little munchkins her age.

So, that is the chaos that we at the Grimes house call life– having 2 toddlers full of badness– and don’t forget Beauty!  Honestly, I truly enjoy every moment that I share with them- and I hope to have more pix soon to upload to show you all of our fun times and “memorable moments” together.  For now, please enjoy the pix that have just been uploaded to the May folder- and I promise to update again soon! :-)

Best Mommy Moment yet…

Avery told me the other day, “Mommy- You’re my Bestest Friend in the Whole Wide World”!

It was so sweet and innocent that it literally made me cry! :-)

A Day at the Zoo

So since the entire house was sick at some point this week.  Avery started last weekend with a 102 degree fever and cough and cold… then Wednesday Carly had a 104 degree fever and viral infection, Daddy got sick Wednesday too only for me to follow Thursday night with a chest cold I’m sure thanks to my beautiful children!  Eventhough I was sick on Friday, we had had enough of the sickness and decided to have a day full of fun.  SO– we packed up and went to the Baltimore Zoo!

The day was wonderful- weather was beautiful and the kids had a fantabulous time.  They were so well behaved I almost questioned whether or not they actually were my children… LOL.  All of the animals were up and moving- we got to see almost everything and like I said, the girls absolutely loved it.  We can’t wait to go back again!  We took tons of pictures, so be sure to check them out in the April folder.

The rest of the weekend has been beautiful so we have been doing our best to enjoy the weather eventhough the sickness is still lingering in our house.  I think at this point its just the endings of the colds, but we are all ready to be fully recovered.  We made a trip to the neighborhood playground yesterday and the kids had a blast swinging and sliding and climbing and running.   Today we are gonna lay low and just hang out– hopefully be fully recovered to start the new week!

Down the Ocean Hon!!!

Went to visit Grandmom and Pop this weekend in Bethany Beach and had a wonderful time!  We went up to the beach on Saturday and Avery was hesitant at first, but within a few minutes, she was loving the beach and covered in sand!  Carly on the other hand wanted absolutely NOTHING to do with the sand, beach or the ocean– and she made that very clear right from the beginning!  You should have seen her when her feet touched the sand… Let’s just say she wasn’t happy about it at all– LOL.  I have uploaded lots of pix from our fun-filled weekend- Hope that you enjoy!
